Will there be Music…?
Compaq Big Band: The Greater Boston Vintage Society is known for having exceptional live music and the Nor’Easter Island will continue this tradition in a big way. Headlining our 1940’s tropical weekend will be the outstanding Compaq Big Band of New England! This 19-piece group will bring all the great hits of the era to our nighttime swing dance following the Saturday Luau. We will also have a beginner swing dance lesson at 8pm and then the band will play 9-11pm. For our swing dance followers out there, there will be a separate ticket offered for the dance only. See the schedule page for the lineup order of all acts.

Wheelhouse Revelers: The Saturday Pool Party will be swiming to the swell sounds of Clyde Bisbee and the Wheelhouse Revelers! This 7-piece band will be supplying classic jazz hits and songs of Hawaii on their steel guitar. The Wheelhouse Revelers perform popular songs from the 1920’s, 30’s, and 40’s alongside a stable of era-inspired originals. You’ll hear familiar tunes and deep cuts from the likes of Louis Armstrong, Billie Holiday, Fats Waller, Bob Wills, Milton Brown, and Pokey LaFarge.

Lulu and the Cephalopops: The Luau dinner will start with an offshoot of Amy Kucharik’s Tiger Moan band. The Cephalopops evolved around a mutual love of vintage music and tropical cocktails. Featuring Amy’s ukulele and a variety of sounds used in Hapa Haole, Hawaiian, Exotica, swing, and surf music, the Cephalopops will transport you to another place and time where you can relax and enjoy the music — whether you prefer swinging or bopping, a mai tai or a hurricane, shaken or stirred. Most recently seen as the house band for the immersive, interactive musical, Cthulhu Luau, the Cephalopops can weather any storm and keep the dance floor hopping and the good times rolling.

Thursday Night Opener and the Vintage Oasis Music Lounge!
Beyond the 1940’s theme, the Nor’Easter will also bring us music from other decades. Kicking us off on Thursday night will be the Hydronauts in our “Pearl Diver Plunge” Room Party! This amazing surf band from Massachusetts will dive deep into Hawaii’s famous harbor for an evening of entertainment. Come dressed to explore this undersea decorated room where you may not find any pearls, but you will find some great themed cocktails!
Saturday’s Vintage Oasis vendor market, we’ll have a rotating arrangement of talented surf and rockabilly acts starting at 10am called the Vintage Oasis Music Lounge. Confirmed bands are the Electric Heaters, the 9th Wave, the Clams, plus more acts to follow. Come shop the vendors, then grab a drink or some lunch and enjoy the music!
