TICKETS / ABOUT

  • This is an indoor event! Our hotel captures the tropical feel of being outdoors with their huge courtyard and pool.
  • All-inclusive!! Aside from welcoming everyone (no martians though, sorry!), we also have an all-inclusive pricing plan. There are two main ticket options and both are good for the whole weekend Thursday through Sunday. There are no VIP tickets at our event and no separate fees required for presentations/etc. We pride ourselves on providing a wicked good deal for a weekend away!
  • We have an awesome luau! The indoor gazebos, scenery, and low lighting make you feel like the sun just went down on Waikiki Beach… (with a little imagination!) Plus, the food is really good, and each year we change up the entertainment to keep it fresh and interesting.
  • This is a fully immersive weekend based on our yearly theme. It’s fine if you want to just come and hang, but we really encourage everyone to be part of the storyline either by dressing the part or by participating in the weekend activities.
  • We have free drinks every night! Thursday and Saturday feature premium cocktails in our Kahuna Lounge and Friday night drinks are courtesy of our generous Room Crawl Hosts.
  • Great music and dancing! We have a varying assortment of live bands that are handpicked for our theme. We also like to have dancing at our events and provide a dance floor in those areas.

For over 13 years, the Greater Boston Vintage Society has brought New England unique and creative events that allow guests to live in another age. You’ll find photos on our website (www.bostonvintage.org) from an assortment of eras spanning the 20th century. We helped start the Roaring Twenties Lawn Party in Ipswich, MA and we’re very proud of our Newport, RI Jazz Age Weekend. One of our favorite themes is the imaginative mid-century tributes to tropical adventure often seen in Tiki bars of past and present. Nor’Easter Island is a way to immerse yourself in this over an entire weekend while also learning about the real history and culture. Below are some examples of other GBVS tropical adventures.

  • Is this on a real island? Sorry to bring you down, but no. This takes place at the Sturbridge Host Hotel in Massachusetts. See our Directions/Hotel Link above.
  • Is the event Easter Island themed? We have a love for all Polynesian culture, but being in America, it is hard not to want to better understand the kingdom/state of Hawai’i foremost. Thus, we do our best to promote and live the spirit of aloha at our event. We treasure all of you as part of our ohana (family). No one here is just an “attendee”, you are an important part of what makes this event a good time and the path to Nor’Easter Island’s future.
  • Should I dress for winter or the beach? Both! The hotel is not cold, but you definitely will not be happy strolling around in your bathing suit all day. Go with the layering theory, and do bring your suit for the pool. Plus consider this a chance to finally wear that heavy vintage outfit you’ve been dying to put on, without worry of sweating through it!
  • Is the hotel ADA compliant? Yes, and all activities are on the 1st floor. There are rooms on the second floor and there is an elevator on the far side, but if you have mobility concerns make sure to ask the staff for a 1st floor room when booking your stay. Fair warning the hotel is HUGE and very spread out. It is tiring by the end of the weekend. Email gbvintagesociety@gmail.com with any questions.
  • How do I sign up? 1. Buy your ticket on our Tickets Link above. 2. If you are staying at the hotel, follow the instructions for calling to book a discounted rate room before it expires on 1/6/2027. Instructions are at our Directions/Hotel Link.
  • Can I attend the event as a walk-in? Yes, you just need to buy an event ticket, no hotel room required. FYI, tickets will not be sold at the event however, online sales only.
  • If I booked my room, am I all set to attend? No, a room at the hotel does not count as event admission by itself. Party crashers will be noticed and we’ll tell your friends that you have a problem. If you have no friends, then the police will be called.
  • Is there a separate ticket for the Vendor Market? No sorry, we have yet to get enough requests (like 3 total) and it’s just too much confusion to have separate registration, more staff etc.
  • Is this kid friendly? Although we’re a bunch of nice folks, please don’t bring the kiddos. Being a 21+ event with alcohol available, it’s just not safe to have anyone underage hanging out. We will be checking ID’s at registration and any persons underage will be turned away without refund.
